Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for two part-time Assistant Swim Coaches with the department of Athletics. This is a 7-month position, with an anticipated start date of September 15, 2019.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,200 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. Fully accredited and known for its strong science, writing, music, athletics, study-away, and service-learning programs, Gustavus hosts a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and is internationally recognized for its annual Nobel Conference.

The Assistant Coach will report directly as an assistant to the Head Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. This person must possess a proven ability to coach swimmers, as well as recruit the best possible student-athletes. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: assist in coaching, recruiting, scouting, practice preparation among other administrative roles within the program. Gustavus, a strong liberal arts college, competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) as an NCAA Division III member. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Collegiate coaching experience.
  • Coaching experience at the college or high school level.
