Cynthia FavreStaff
Since 1989 Cynthia Favre, Director of Vocation and Career Readiness Programs, has helped Gusties to name their gifts and talents and find places to use them in the world. She has a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, Morris with a Sociology major.
Cynthia supports the career success of Gustavus students and alumni through developing career-related activities and educational materials, providing individual appointments and group presentations, and connecting students to career resources and opportunities. Cynthia supports all students and serves as liaison for the following academic areas:
- Humanities Division: Classics | English | History | Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures | Philosophy | Religion | Scandinavian Studies
- Education Division: Education |Health and Exercise Science | Individualized Majors
- Undeclared/Still Deciding Students or First Career Meeting: Supporting students in exploring majors and careers including increasing self-awareness (assessments), building confidence in career decision-making, and gaining career related experiences.
Cynthia focuses on: assisting students in selecting academic majors , teaching Career Readiness (second half of fall and spring semesters) and Design Your Future (January Terms). She is very interested in helping students to gain career-related experiences while in college.
