Wallenberg Foundation Intern Award
Funding for this award was discontinued February 2018.
Purpose
The Wallenberg Foundation Intern Award provides financial support that enables Gustavus students to complete an internship in Sweden during the January Interim Term or Summer Session. The purpose of the Wallenberg Foundation Intern Award is to enable Gustavus students to benefit from the educational enhancement, personal growth, and career and professional development that result from the completion of an international internship, regardless of their ability to pay.
Financial Support
Gustavus pays for the following elements, allowing the Award recipient to complete an internship in Sweden at a site of the student's choice, up to pre-set limits for each expense category:
- Airfare
- Ground Transportation
- Housing
- Food
- Medical insurance
Award recipients will also receive a weekly stipend for every week that they work at their internship. Gustavus is able to provide this financial support to its students because of a five-year grant from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.
