Characteristics of Successful Projects
A successful project will focus on one or two mathematical ideas in
the general topic area. A less successful project will try to cover
too many ideas in less depth and will be lacking in focus. An
unsuccessful project will not have any math in it.
A successful project will make it clear to the reader, and to the
viewers of the poster, exactly what new mathematics the
authors/creators learned.
The emphasis of this project is not on research. Do not try and
research an entire topic area. Instead, focus on learning some new
mathematics. Your report should be written with other MCS-115
students as your intended audience.
