Wellbeing

  • Spring Fitness Challenge (Spring 2017): The Spring Fitness Challenge is designed to get you moving and enjoying the great outdoors! As an incentive, you can earn a Minnesota State Park sticker and Minnesota Fishing License. More information is now available. You can register online or download the information packet.

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (ongoing): The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program seeks to help participants cope with more ease during stressful times, enhance ability to comfort the physical body, increase awareness of the mind’s influence on the body in health and illness, and have greater clarity in taking care of one’s health. It can be especially helpful to those who experience stress, cancer, GI distress, headaches, heart disease, chronic pain, high blood pressure, asthma, fibromyalgia, diabetes, skin disorders, anxiety and panic, fatigue, and sleep disturbances.

Our program is modeled after the program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn as featured in the Bill Moyer’s PBS Special “Healing and the Mind” and described in Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book “Full Catastrophe Living.” It meets once a week for eight weeks and includes an all-day retreat. This is a challenging and life-affirming course that involves guided instruction in moving meditation (yoga), seated meditation, mindful eating and mindful walking. Please check back for program registration.

  • 12 Days of Wellbeing (Fall 2016): The goal for the 12 Days of Wellbeing is to complete every activity on the wellness calendar. Prizes are offered for those who register and complete the challenges by the specified deadline. Register online or download a form. Calendars can also be completed online or downloaded and returned as a hard copy.
