Be U Peer Group Coaching

Wellbeing

Be U Overview

Be U Peer Group Coaching is a signature program of the Wellbeing Initiative that supports exploration of purpose, connection, and vitality. Be U fosters a campus culture in which you care for yourself and your peers.

  • Clarify your purpose, discover what motivates you, and shift behaviors that block you from success.
  • Learn tools for self-care, reflection, balance, self-awareness, acceptance, and growth.
  • Gain professional leadership skills; active listening, mindful presence, observational learning, critical thinking, and motivational interviewing

Be U Benefits

Be U groups provide positive, confidential settings to help you identify and use your personal strengths to enhance your wellbeing vision. This strengths-based approach fosters self-awareness, gives you strategies to overcome challenges, and helps you thrive. Typical coaching topics include: relationship difficulties, adjustment to college, academic concerns, grief and bereavement, stress management, goal setting, decision making, test anxiety, and questions related to career and identity.

How Groups Work

WHO: Open to all Gusties students (groups of 6)

WHAT + WHEN: Hour-long weekly meetings throughout each semester (eight meetings). There are various group meeting times; you commit to the same group and time each week. Training is for all interested participants at the beginning of each semester.

If you wish to participate in Be U sign up in the Peer Education Office or register by emailing Amy Pehrson at ckirk@gustavus.edu
