A Moment of Magic
Constitution of A Moment of Magic
ARTICLE I. NAME
The name of this organization shall be A Moment of Magic.
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization shall be:
Section 1: To visit children in hospitals, special education schools, and other nonprofit organizations.
Section 2: Raise Awareness of A Moment of Magic program as well as A Moment of Magic Foundation on campus.
Section 3: Promote a positive community and idea of service.
Section 4: Promote an uplifting, safe, and communal environment for all members.Section 5: To create awareness for pediatric cancer, female empowerment, and finding passion in service work.
***ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. The voting membership of A Moment of Magic shall be limited to organization members who are Gustavus students.
Section 2. A Moment of Magic will not deny membership on the basis of age, disability status, ethnicity, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or veteran status.
Section 3: Members of A Moment of Magic will follow the rules and standards set forth by its founders. Members are expected to uphold the expectations found in the agreement contracts of each branch within the club, and complete the prerequisites before becoming an official character of A Moment of Magic.
ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
Section 1. The offices of this organization shall be:

Section 6: The New Member Coordinator
Section 7: The Magic Maker Coordinator
Section 8: The Fundraiser Chair
Section 9: The On- Campus CoordinatorSection 10: The Interchapter Relations Chair
Section 11: Costume Coordinator
Section 12: Social Media Coordinator
Re-elections will be taking place during the first week of September so the chairs are subject to change.
Section 2. The duties of the officers are as follows:
President- Plan and supervise all meetings, activities, events, be leader of chapter, keep chapter functioning.
Vice President- plan, supervise and evaluate all chapter activities.
Secretary- take detailed minutes of each meeting, email members minutes from each meeting, keep members updated with activities and reminders.
Treasurer- responsible for collecting information on monies allocated by the school or university.
Off-Campus Coordinator- organizes, executes, and leads all chapter efforts regarding the A Moment of Magic.
New Member Coordinator- constantly raise interest in A Moment of Magic and recruit new members.
Magic Maker Coordinator- ensure that handlers are prepared and involved in the group.
Fundraiser Chair- responsible for organizing fundraisers for A Moment of Magic.
On-Campus Coordinator- organizes, executes, and leads all chapter efforts regarding the A Moment of Magic’s campus events.
Interchapter Relations Chair- create a sense of community between members of the chapter, social events, ice breakers.
Costume Coordinator- upkeep of character costumes, make sure each costume gets passed on to the next member.
12. Social Media Coordinator- update all forms of social media, promoting awareness of m organization
***Section 3. To hold an elected, or appointed office in this organization, a member must have at least a 2.5 GPA at the time of election or appointment, and must be a full-time student. Furthermore, the member may not be on academic or disciplinary probation.
***ARTICLE V. SPECIAL COLLEGE NAME REQUIREMENTS
This organization will adhere to the COLLEGE NAME Conduct Code.
ARTICLE VI. MEETINGS
Section 1. Regular meetings of the organization shall be FILL IN.
Section 2. Special meetings may be called by all officers.
Section 3. Quorum shall be constituted by 2/3 members.
ARTICLE VII. COMMITTEES
Section 1: There shall be two standing committees of A Moment of Magic: The Character Branch, The Magic Makers.
Section 2:
The main responsibility for The Character branch is dressing up as an E-board approved character and attending hospital visits to interact directly with children. *Please see the character agreement form for more details.*
The Magic Maker Branch will assist in A Moment of Magic visits. They will interact with the children, help take pictures, as well as help with the general logistics of each visit. *Please see the handler agreement form for more details*
ARTICLE IX. AMENDMENTS (Methods)
Section 1: The Constitution may be amended by two-thirds of all the full members.
Section 2: All amendments to the constitution and bylaws are subject to the approval of the Office of Student Activities and Student Government.
