Statement Of Purpose/ Mission
The purpose of the Gustavus Women’s Club Hockey Team is to provide Gustavus women the opportunity to competitively play the game of hockey at a level between Intramurals and Varsity. This club team will allow Gustavus women the chance to play along side other Gustie women, while also having the opportunity to play against other colleges through the sport of hockey. There are many women on campus that are interested in playing hockey at a competitive level, but not quite to the level of Varsity. This club team will help women stay active and play a sport they love at a level that works best for them. Women who enjoy the game of hockey are at a disadvantage because there are very limited opportunities for them on campus. Intramurals consist of mainly men, there is no JV Women’s Team, and there has not been a club option in the past. The Gustavus Women’s Club Hockey Team will be able to change that.
