Scholarships available for students of association congregations

Gustavus can provide an outstanding liberal arts education for the sons and daughters of your congregation. On our residential campus, in a faith-friendly environment, Gustavus promotes five core values: Faith, Community, Justice, Service, and Excellence. The purpose of a Gustavus education is to help its students attain their full potential as persons, to develop in them a capacity and passion for lifelong learning, and to prepare them for fulfilling lives of leadership and service in society.

To ensure that we meet this goal, the following church-related scholarships are available:

Matching Congregational Scholarships

Matching Congregational Scholarships of up to $1,000 awarded by a student's home congregations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Gustavus each year, if the Gustavus Office of Financial Aid is notified by June 1.

Lutheran Leadership Award Scholarships

Lutheran Leadership Award Scholarships range in value from $250 to $2,000, based upon academic qualifications, recommendation, and financial eligibility as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and are awarded to students who are active in a Gustavus Association Congregation. Students must be nominated by their pastor or Association delegate. The priority deadline for applying for this award is March 1.

Please explore the Office of Admission's website for further information about the process and a full listing of scholarship opportunities at Gustavus.
