Gustavus Student Life Conference
Welcome to the homepage for the 2nd annual division conference hosted and presented by our Student Life Division. The conference will be hosted on campus at Gustavus Adolphus College on Monday, January 26, 2015.
This event is designed for professionals in our division (and friends!) and is intended to create dialogue and generate ideas about identifying and addressing the needs of our students and focusing on the work we do to support students.
This year's theme is "The Involved Gustie." The purpose of the conference is to create dialogue and generate ideas around identifying and addressing the needs of our students. Our students choose to get themselves involved with my activities, organizations, clubs, teams, etc., during their time at Gutsavus. What are they learning from that involvement? How are co-curricular and extra-curricular involvement influencing academic success? How are we challenging and supporting students as they prioritize?
This half-day conference will feature presentations by members of the student life division - representing Counseling Center, Residential Life, Health Services, Campus Safety, Campus Activities, Multicultural Programs, Wellbeing, and the Dean of Students Office.
The tentative schedule for January 26:
11:30 - 11:45 a.m. - Welcome & pick up lunch (St. Peter Room)
11:45 - 12:30 p.m. - Featured speaker
12:40 - 1:20 p.m. - Three concurrent sessions (details TBD)
1:30 - 2:10 p.m. - Three concurrent sessions (details TBD)
2:10 - 2:25 p.m. - Refreshments/break (St. Peter Room)
2:25 - 3:05 p.m. - Three concurrent sessions (details TBD)
3:15 - 3:55 p.m. - Three concurrent sessions (details TBD)
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Wrap-up & reflection (St. Peter Room)
