Internship Program

Many of our students enroll in an internship course to become more familiar with the occupational activities of persons who have pursued a career directly related to psychology. Approximately 20 to 30 students take advantage of this opportunity each year, although the majority complete their internship during the four weeks of the January Term. In the internship, the student spends 36 to 40 hours per week for four weeks on their assignment. In addition, each student completes a daily log of their activities and interviews two people about their careers in the field. The students are placed in various locations across Minnesota but primarily in the Twin Cities area. This has been an invaluable experience for students and it is not uncommon for students to reassess their career plans after completing their internships.
