I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan and my wife, Lisa Bard, is from Muskegon, Michigan. We have two sons, Peter who graduated from Gustavus in 2014 in Physics (now working for the CRAY Computer Company) and Scott who is a senior at Saint Peter Senior High School. I am an avid fly fisherman who loves the outdoors. Our entire family loves to ski, hike, Kayak, and play outside.
My career at Gustavus began in 2010. I was attracted to the College because of the strong sense of community and it’s academic reputation. The education at Gustavus is superb, faculty are highly committed to excellent teaching and close interaction with students.
I have spent over 30 years in higher education and was the Dean of the College at Dartmouth College before coming to Gustavus and was a Vice President at Grinnell College before Dartmouth. My territories are Alaska and Hawaii.
