Conductor, The Choir of Christ Chapel

Mr. Samuel Grace serves as Visiting Instructor as conductor of the Choir of Christ Chapel. A proud Gustavus alumnus, Grace is best known in Minnesota for his dedication to new music and the work of living composers. He is the Founding Artistic Director of MPLS (imPulse), a Minneapolis-based chamber chorus dedicated to expanding access to choral music through unique partnerships and nontraditional programming. Previous MPLS (imPulse) program venues include swimming pools, craft breweries, planetariums, and a commercial kitchen. Notable past partners are: ComMUSICation, National Geographic, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, and Urban Growler Brewery. More information at:

In addition to his role at Gustavus, Grace serves as Director of Music Ministry at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN where he oversees four choral ensembles.

Grace recently returned to Minnesota following completion of coursework for a DM degree in Choral Conducting at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.  Samuel holds degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College and The University of Minnesota.
