Paul Tillquist ’63

Alumni and Administrator

Paul F. Tillquist serves as an Executive Consultant to the President and Vice President at Gustavus Adolphus College.  In this role he provides advice and counsel on matters relating to fundraising, advancement management, and marketing and communications.  Prior to this position he was the Vice President for Development and Communications for Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, a position he held for eight years.  He has a long history in fundraising much of it at his alma mater, Gustavus Adolphus College.  His education includes an A.B. degree from Gustavus, and an M.A. and PhD from the University of Northern Colorado.

An active Lutheran layperson, Paul is a member of Incarnation Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation in North Oaks, MN.  He has shared his experiences and skills as a member of many non-profit boards:   Bethesda Lutheran Medical Center, Lutheran Social Service Foundation, National Lutheran Choir, Holden Village, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, and the American Swedish Institute. His special interests on non-profit boards include governance and fund-raising.   He served on the Executive Council of the LCA and throughout his adult church life on many church councils and committees as well as synodical committees (LCA).  Paul is married and has two adult children.
