Visiting Instructor in Health and Exercise Science

Laurel is a visiting instructor, returning to Gustavus from Arizona where she has lived since graduating from Gustavus.   She brings experience teaching Kindergarten through College.  Laurel was also a coach at many levels - junior high, high school, community and travel teams for, most recently - Cross country, Track and Soccer. She is also certified in Adapted Physical Education and has coached for Unified Track/Special Olympics.

Laurel's continuing education experiences include earning Master Graduate from Rapport International, peer coaching and mentoring and various classes in fitness, nutrition and exercise science.  Laurel is a personal trainer and enjoys designing and implementing work out plans for clients and herself. 

Outside of work, Laurel is an avid runner and fitness nut!  She runs half and full marathons, Ragnar (200 mile relay events), and Obstacle races.  She enjoys hiking, watching football, travelling, cooking and watching movies! Coming from living in a very hot climate, winter outdoor activities will be a new, learning experience this year.
