Kevin BirrStaff
Kevin was born and raised in Mankato Minnesota. After graduating from Minnesota State, Mankato, Kevin managed multiple restaurants ranging across North Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. Kevin came to Gustavus in 1999, and in addition to his full time job in Dining Services, he lived on campus as a Head Resident between the years of 2005-2009.
In his free time, Kevin played the sport of Curling competitively and earned four Minnesota State Championships, Fourteen National Championship appearances, playing in the National Final Four nine times, medaling six times including winning Bronze at the 2010 Olympic Qualifier. Kevin won the National Championships in 2007, and went on that year to win Bronze at the Ford World Curling Championships. Kevin has won Gold at the Continental Cup of Curling against Europe's best, The America's Challenge against Brazil and The Mavado Cup against Switzerland's top teams. He has also represented the USA in Japan at the Karwazawa International Championships. Kevin is a certified food manager and wild mushroom Identification Expert.
