Heidi Selzler Bahr
Heidi Selzler-Bahr is in her third year as assistant coach for the Gustavus track and field team, working primarily with the multis and high jumpers. Selzler-Bahr has worked with several tremendous multi-event athletes during her time at Gustavus, including standout Janey Helland who was the NCAA Champion in the heptathlon in 2011. Helland also placed second in the pentathlon at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships, and was a two-time MIAC Champion in the Heptathlon.
A native of Harvey, N.D., Selzler-Bahr graduated from Harvey High School in 1999 where she was two-time state champion in the triple jump. She then went on to attend North Dakota State University where she competed in track and field for the Bison. Heidi earned her bachelor’s degree in recreational management and sociology from NDSU in 2004. She is currently in the midst of graduate work in experimental/educational leadership at Minnesota State University, Mankato where she is expected to obtain a master’s degree by the end of the fall 2013 semester. Before joining the track and field coaching staff, Selzler-Bahr coached basketball at Minnesota State Community and Technical College from 2005-07.
Along with her coaching duties at Gustavus, Selzler-Bahr works in the Recreational and Leisure Service Department for the city of St. Peter. She and her husband, Dale, live in St Peter with their three children, Runnar, Jesiah and Cadence.
