David, a native of Rice Lake, WI, was hired as the Assistant Director of Operations for Tennis and Life Camps in 2012. He has worked as an instructor for TLC since 2007. In 2010, David received the David Aasen Teaching Award when he was nominated by his fellow staff members for his energy, enthusiasm, humor, sportsmanship, concern for others, and an optimistic look on life. Additionally, he has coached several high school teams and worked as a tennis professional at tennis clubs and country clubs.
During his undergrad, David served as the Co-President for Discoveries International, Inc, a student-run nonprofit designed to purchase goods from developing countries, resell those goods, and donating the proceeds to several charities. David has taught and coached at colleges, high schools, tennis clubs, country clubs, and volunteered with local programs.
David provides support on the business side of Tennis and Life Camps, one of the top junior tennis camps in the country. During the summer, he provides supervisory support to 35 instructors and office staff. He works closely with Neal Hagberg, TLC Director, in coordinating over 150 summer camp and winter retreat scholarships that TLC is allowed to give as a nonprofit affiliated with Gustavus.
