Chaplaincy Resident in Chaplains' Office

My name is Caitlin Jensen and I am the Chaplaincy Resident in the Chaplains’ Office at Gustavus. I recently graduated from Luther Seminary with a Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. This last year I did a pastoral internship at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter. The three years before that, I served as a high school youth minister at a church in the Twin Cities. I am a transplant to Minnesota, and am originally from San Jose, CA – go SF Giants!

With my graduation from seminary, I will be starting the call process in the next few months, and will hopefully be called as a pastor in the ELCA. Until then, I will be working part-time at Gustavus for the fall semester, and part-time as a youth minister at First Lutheran, St. Peter.

As a person, I am genuinely relational. I care about people’s stories: where they come from, what drives them, etc. I am motivated by my call to love God and to love my neighbor. If you see me around campus, stop and talk with me! I am happy get to know you over a hot beverage (preferably tea).

I believe that inclusive language is important. I care about the voice of the voiceless. I love my Lutheran faith. And I am particularly passionate about women’s stories: both inside and outside of scripture.
