Life before Gustavus
I grew up in Portland Oregon and attended Sunset High School (the Apollos!).    I attended Gustavus from the fall of 1983 through the spring of 1987.

What are your professional/work interests?
Diversity, openness, student development, politics, fine arts

What is your best college search tip?
Give yourself a large enough window to make your college decision. Eighteen months is a good length of time in which to conduct your college search.

What are your most recent professional/work projects?
I’ve been working as the liaison between the music department and the admission office; I run the group of current Gusties that call prospective Gusties! I also coordinate travel and office staffing for the Admission Office

What do you learn from interacting with Gustavus students?
What is most important to people who are 18-22 years old; how people of all ages can find common ground; the stresses on people of all ages in our society.

What do you value most about working at Gustavus?
I value the community atmosphere; all of the unusual opportunities that come along with being in a rigorous academic environment; and, being in a setting where education, development and learning are valued.

What are your hobbies?
Politics, music, sports, media, food,

How have you been involved in your community?
Coaching youth sports & serving on boards of youth related organizations in Mankato.

What is your favorite Gustavus tradition?
Hello Walk -- greeting fellow members of the Gustavus community wherever you meet them!
