Teachers Talking

Thursday, September 8, 2011 (Around 4 years ago)

Join us on Friday, October 7 for Teachers Talking Challenging Conversations: Getting (and Keeping) More Students Engaged. It’s easy to assume that our courses encourage all of our students to participate in the conversation. But how do we know that all of our students receive the invitation—and feel invited to join in? Join Patricia English-Schneider (Communication Studies) and Becky Fremo (English) as they explore ways to encourage students to participate in class discussion. We’ll pay particular attention to the needs of students who—for a variety of reasons—may find class discussion intimidating: multilingual and ELL students, students with disabilities, and students of color. Program runs at 11:30 and again at 12:30. Free lunch at Three Crowns buffet, then meet in the Heritage Room.
