"Preparing for the Post-Course Era" Conference

On Tuesday, February 16, at Noon, Randall Bass, a national expert on rethinking the way that students learn, will present a 30-minute presentation and a 30-minute question-and-answer period on such issues as: The research on the role of non-course experiences on the overall student experience, the challenge that the “post course” era presents for colleges trying to offer a coherent undergraduate experience, the use of e-portfolios and other Web 2.0 tools to make this wider context for student learning visible and to measure student achievement both in and out of class, and why these tools are replacing traditional measures, and the importance of academic affairs and student life officials working together in new ways in this environment.

Free lunch at the buffet (please get your lunch before the presentation starts at noon), in the Heritage Room.

 2009 Hall of Fame Class Selected

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has chosen nine individuals for induction into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2009 inductees include Kerri Pool Foss ‘94, Dan Dohmeier ‘86, Bob Klindworth ‘93, Leisha Johnson Ronning ‘90, C.J. Gustavus Adolphus College is once again a Best College in The Princeton Review’s college ranking guidebook, The Best 371 Colleges. Also, Gustavus again made the Best Campus Food list. These annual rankings are based solely on input from college students.

Fringe Festival Features Gustavus Theatre and Dance

Since its founding, the Minnesota Fringe Festival has featured the work of hundreds of Gustavus Theatre & Dance students, alumni and faculty. This year is no exception, with a number of performances by alumni and current students across the 11-day festival.
