AAC&U Report on Employer Perspectives
Wednesday, September 9, 2009 (Around 6 years ago)
The Association of American Colleges and Universities has twice asked employers of graduates how well colleges are doing and where the greatest needs are. In the 2008 report, about a third of employers felt many graduates were not well prepared for entry level work and most felt half or more of graduates were unprepared for advancement. Writing, self-direction, and global knowledge were particular areas of concern. They felt supervised internships and capstone writing projects were good indicators of preparedness; exams of knowledge were not. The full report can be found at the AAC&U site.
