Faculty Travel Rules Refresher

Wednesday, August 5, 2009 (Around 6 years ago)

Because the travel budget has not kept up with increasing demand, the rules for travel fund allocation have been tweaked over the years. The most current policy is available at the Kendall Center website

Of particular note: -You must submit a request for funding before you travel. -A completed expense report form must accompany interdepartmental invoices. -Up to $500 is available to full time tenure-track faculty for attending a conference. -Up to an additional $700 is available if presenting. -The $500 allocation can only be rolled over and used in the subsequent year to present at a conference, but not simply to attend. -Full time non-tenure track faculty in their second or successive year of a visiting position may apply for $700 to present, but funds will not be allocated for attending a conference.

Discussions with the Provost’s Office and the Faculty Development Committee will be held this year to evaluate travel fund priorities and procedures.
