Gustavus Faculty To Attend Network Summer

Monday, April 24, 2006 (Around 9 years ago)

Several faculty were accepted through a competitive process into the Network Summer programs hosted at New York University. Thanks to our new membership in the Faculty Resource Network, they will have their travel, registration, and lodging provided for one of several week-long seminar in June.

• Amy Fry (Library) will attend From Punk to Postmodernism: Teaching Contemporary Culture through Archives and Theory.

• Alisa Rosenthal (Political Science) and Mark Granquist (Religion) will both attend Reacting to the Past.

• Jeff Dahlseid, Colleen Jacks, and Tom LoFaro were accepted as a team for BIO 2010: How Genes Act in Populations.

Last November, the Faculty Resource Network based at New York University invited Gustavus to become an associate member of their nationally-recognized faculty development initiative. We are the only Midwestern institution invited to join this collaboration that includes major East Coast universities as well as historically Black colleges and universities and Latino-serving institutions. Their programs offer rich faculty development opportunities to an intentionally diverse set of institutions.

Network Summer is an annual event. Look for an announcement of next summer’s lineup of seminars sometime next fall. For more information about the Faculty Resource Network, visit their Website at
