Building a Learning-Centered Institution ~ Collaboration Conference

The Collaboration for the advancement of college teaching and learning is holding the 2006 winter conference, topic: Building a Learning-Centered Institution. The conference will be held February 17-18 at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, in Bloomington MN.

There are several pre-conference workshops and concurrent sessions on topics such as addressing ethical instructional issues, grant writing for learning-centered institutions, first-year seminar abc’s, and using service-learning to enhance student learning.

Information and brochures were sent to all department chairs. If you are interested in attending any of the sessions, please contact Cathy Blaukat at ext. 6227 or cblaukat@gustavus.edu by January 20, so we can make the early bird deadline. Gustavus will pay for your registration to the conference.

 2009 Hall of Fame Class Selected

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has chosen nine individuals for induction into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2009 inductees include Kerri Pool Foss ‘94, Dan Dohmeier ‘86, Bob Klindworth ‘93, Leisha Johnson Ronning ‘90, C.J. Gustavus Adolphus College is once again a Best College in The Princeton Review’s college ranking guidebook, The Best 371 Colleges. Also, Gustavus again made the Best Campus Food list. These annual rankings are based solely on input from college students.

Fringe Festival Features Gustavus Theatre and Dance

Since its founding, the Minnesota Fringe Festival has featured the work of hundreds of Gustavus Theatre & Dance students, alumni and faculty. This year is no exception, with a number of performances by alumni and current students across the 11-day festival.
