  • Encyclopedia of Emotion
    Greenwood Press 2010
    This two-volume set offers more than 400 alphabetically organized entries on a broad range of topics, including the neurological foundations of emotional function, competing theories of emotion, multicultural perspectives on emotions, emotional disorders, their diagnosis and treatment, and profiles of important organizations and key figures who have shaped our understanding of how and why we feel the way we do.

  • Encyclopedia of Human Behavior
    San Diego: Academic Press 2012
    An alphabetical collection of articles on a wide variety of topics, including such specifics as handedness and blushing, as well as broader concepts such as interpersonal communications and intelligence. Each provides an overview of the current knowledge base and provides references to research on the topic.

  • Encyclopedia of Human Emotions

    A multidisciplinary approach to emotions such as anxiety, commitment, friendship, and hope, with additional entries on important theorists in the field.

  • Encyclopedia of Human Relationships
    Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage 2009
    Offers scholarly approaches to basic human relationships and emotions such as envy, social isolation, and abusive and violent relationships. The bibliographies are useful for tracking down related research.

    Offers in-depth coverage of current knowledge in the field. Intended for specialists, these volumes summarize the current accepted knowledge in the field.

  • Encyclopedia of Sociology
    Macmillan 2000 2nd edition
    This set provides up-to-date and scholarly discussions of topics in the field such as class and race, ethnicity, economic sociology, and social structure. Each article is written by a specialist and all have excellent bibliographies.

    Covers a wide range of ideas historically and internationally. Particularly strong for overviews of current ideas taken in historical context, listing essential and significant texts that contributed to the development of concepts.

  • Academic Search Premier
    The world's largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier indexes nearly 8,050 publications and provides full text for nearly 4,600, including more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage also includes many newspapers and popular magazines and spans virtually every area of academic study since 1975. Updated daily.   • Annual Review of Psychology
    Annual Reviews
    Offers review articles on topics in the field. These sort out the published research on a topic, discuss it, and provide references. A good overview of what's going on in the field for the topics covered.

  • Annual Review of Sociology
    Annual volume of review essays that examine an issue in depth and provide a review of relevant research.
  • Communication & Mass Media Complete
    Communication & Mass Media Complete (CMMC) originated with the merging of two databases in the fields of communication and mass media studies - CommSearch and Mass Media Articles Index. CMMC indexes around 600 journals and contains full text for over 240 titles.
  • PsycARTICLES
    Full text access to the 43 journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe & Huber, some going back to 1988. PsycARTICLES journals are indexed in the PsycINFO database.
  • PsycINFO
    Citations and abstracts to articles from more than 1300 international journals in psychology and related fields, going back to 1840. This database covers all areas of psychology, including experimental, developmental, communications, social processes and issues, personality, physical and psychological disorders, professional issues, applied psychology, educational psychology, and behavioral literature in such related fields as law, business and medicine. Also includes citations for books and book chapters.
  • SAGE Premier
    Search the full text to over 500 scholarly journals published by SAGE in a range of disciplines, including many social sciences titles. Many journals include full backfiles - back to 1960s or earlier. To search articles by discipline, click on the "Browse" tab, then click on the "Articles by Discipline" tab.
