    A comprehensive research database in the fields of religion and theology produced by the American Theological Library Association.     Indexes literature related to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistorical times to the present. This extensive database covers over 2,000 journals published worldwide including all key English-language historical journals, selected historical journals from major countries, and state and local history journals, as well as books, dissertations and book reviews.

    Angewandte Chemie
    One of the top-rated chemistry journals in the world, published weekly. It contains review articles, which summarize recent research and developments in chemistry; highlights, which evaluate current trends in chemical research; and communications, which report on the latest research results.

    L'Annee Philologique Online
    Annual index of scholarly publications relating to the civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome (500 BCE to 800 CE). The most complete index available for classics, this resource includes over 375,000 citations to articles, books, book reviews, conference proceedings, and essays on on all aspects of Greek and Latin cultures, including literature, language, art, archaeology, philosophy, and religion. International in scope, it indexes works in all languages.

    Search tips: To begin your search, click "Enter." Select "Full Text" to search the full text of the citations. Select "Subjects and discplines" to search or browse the tables of contents in two separate files: since volume 67 (since 1996) and before volume 67. Click "Read the total" to view the results of your search.

    Full-text archive of 32 scholarly journals published by the American Anthropological Association (AAA), most dating back to the first issue and about half continuing to the present. This is the premier online resource serving the research, teaching, and professional needs of anthropologists, and covers physical anthropology, cultural or social anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and archaeology.

    Biblical Archaeology Society Online Archive
    Search and browse the full text of 8 religion books and journals published by the Biblical Archaeology Society, including the Biblical Archaeology Review and the Bible Review.

    Bibliography of the History of Art
    The Bibliography of the History of Art is a comprehensive bibliography of scholarly writing about the history of western art. BHA includes articles from over 1,200 journals. Note that the database search includes both BHA (covering 1990-2007) and the International Bibliography of Art (IBA), covering the years 2008 and part of 2009. The Répertoire de la litterature de l'art (RILA), one of the predecessors of BHA, with records that cover 1975–1989, is slated to be online by May 1.

    Biological Sciences
    Citations and abstracts to research in all areas of biological sciences, including biomedicine, biotechnology, zoology, and ecology. Coverage is from 1982 to the present. Biological Sciences indexes over 6,000 primary journals plus patents, conference proceedings, books and reports.

    Provides information on more than 7.5 million U.S. book, audio book, and video titles. Also includes many book reviews.

    Britannica Online Academic Edition
    Search the content of encyclopedias, a dictionary and thesaurus, a multimedia database with images, videos, and sound files, the Web's Best Sites, selected magazines and journals, country statistics from World Data Analyst, notable quotations, and Gateway to the Classics (a collection of works of Western history, literature, philosophy, and science).     Catholic Periodical & Literature Index
    The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index Online is the product of a partnership between ATLA and the Catholic Library Association. The database covers all aspects of the Catholic faith and lifestyle, and includes over 380,000 index citations of articles and reviews published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith that are authored by Catholics and/or produced by Catholic publishers. Indexing for CPLI Online corresponds to the print version, The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index, published by the Catholic Library Association and covers content from over 200 periodicals.     Communication & Mass Media Complete
    Communication & Mass Media Complete (CMMC) originated with the merging of two databases in the fields of communication and mass media studies - CommSearch and Mass Media Articles Index. CMMC indexes around 600 journals and contains full text for over 240 titles.

    Congressional (LexisNexis)
    Index to congressional publications from 1970 to the present, legislative histories for public laws, testimony at congressional hearings, and biographical and committee information. Also allows searching of the Congressional Record and Federal Register.

    Consumer Health Complete
    This full-text database provides consumer-oriented health content, from mainstream medicine to the perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated medicine. Covers topics such as aging, cancer, diabetes, drugs & alcohol, fitness, nutrition & dietetics, children's health, and men's & women's health.     Early English Books Online
    Early English Books Online (EEBO) contains digital facsimile page images of nearly 100,000 books in English printed between 1473 and 1700 - virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America, plus works in English printed elsewhere. Texts range from the first book printed in English by William Caxton through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare and the tumult of the English Civil War. Included are works by Malory, Bacon, More, Erasmus, Boyle, Newton, Galileo; musical exercises by Henry Purcell; novels by Aphra Behn; prayer books, pamphlets, and proclamations; almanacs, calendars, and many other primary sources.

    The EconLit database, produced by the Journal of Economic Literature, includes subject indexing and abstracts to 685 journals, books, dissertations, and working papers in the field of economics and allied disciplines.

    Educator's Reference Complete
    This upgrade to the Professional Collection database includes more than 450 full-text academic journals, hundreds of full-text reports, and many premier reference sources.     GeoRefS contains citations to nearly 2 million records about geology and earth sciences. It is international in scope, and citations date from 1785 to the present.

    GSW provides access to the full text of more than 40 journals in the earth sciences. The default search includes both GSW journals and the GeoRef index. To limit your search to GSW full text journals only, select "All GSW journals" on the Quick Search or Advanced Search menu.

    Google Scholar
    This search engine points toward scholarly research rather than all Web-based sources. It is stronger in the sciences than in the humanities, with social sciences somewhere in between. One interesting feature of Google Scholar is that in includes a link to sources that cite a particular item. If you are using Google Scholar on campus, you will find articles available through the library's subscription databases linked. To view these links when searching off campus, use our Google Scholar Off Campus Link. Not all of the articles in Google Scholar are free; the library can obtain many of them for you through interlibrary loan.

    A freely accessible research database focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with information on topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond. Comprised of scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports.

    Grove Music Online
    The online counterpart to the New Grove Dictionary of Music, this reference source contains articles on composers, performers, styles, genres, world music, instruments, and much more. This title is available through Oxford Music Online and can be cross-searched with The Oxford Dictionary of Music and The Oxford Companion to Music. The print version is also available in the reference collection.

    Gustavian Weekly (1920-2005)

    HLAS Online
    The Handbook of Latin American Studies is an online annotated bibliography on Latin America edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress. Coverage alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Over 5,000 new references are added each year.

    Journal published weekly by the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

    Journal of Cell Biology
    Scholarly journal covering all aspects of cellular structure and function, including nuclear organization and structure, cell cycle and division, cell growth, survival and death, cellular adhesion and motility, and intercellular communication. Cell biology can also encompass structural and molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics.

    Search over 800 scientific, technical and medical journals from over 60 different publishers. Includes full text coverage of 14 nursing journals.

    Full-text backfiles to over 350 scholarly journals from more than 25 academic disciplines published between the 19th and 21st centuries in the JSTOR Arts & Sciences I, Arts & Sciences II, and Language & Literature collections. JSTOR provides complete journal backruns from the date of initial publication up to a "moving wall" of 3 to 5 years before the present year.     MLA International Bibliography
    The major research resource for information on English literature, foreign languages and linguistics. Includes references to scholarly articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, and dissertations; coverage dates back to the 1920's.

    MasterFILE Premier
    Although designed for public libraries, this database provides some content useful for college students. It provides full text for nearly 1,700 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. It also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an image collection of over 460,000 photos, maps & flags.     Medieval Sources Online is a web-based learning resource containing hundreds of original medieval history documents compiled for the teaching and study of history.

    The National Library of Medicine's index to scholarly literature in medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and the health care system, from 1994-present. MEDLINE links to the ProQuest interface; this database can also be searched through the NLM's free PubMed web interface.

    Search issues of the Minneapolis Tribune from 1867-1922. Access is provided by the Electronic Library for Minnesota (ELM).

    Naxos Music Library
    Naxos Music Library (NML) is the world's largest online classical music library. It also includes some jazz, film music, world music, and contemporary rock content. Resources offered by NML include synopses of over 700 operas, a pronunciation guide for composer and artist names and a glossary of musical terms. NML can be searched by composer, work, label, and keyword search. Note: A limit of ten people can use the Naxos Music Library at one time.

    NBER Working Papers
    Provides access to current National Bureau of Economic Research Working Papers (about 1,000 per year), plus an archive of papers going back to 1973. Topics include: Children, Corporate Finance, Education, Environmental Economics, Health Care, International Finance, Labor Studies, Political Economy, and more.

    New Testament Abstracts
    New Testament Abstracts Online is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. The database is an indispensable research and bibliographic aid for scholars, librarians, clergy and students of the New Testament and its historical milieu. The database contains more than 38,000 article abstracts, 1,200 review abstracts, 13,500 book abstracts, and 50 software abstracts. Each year an additional 2,100 articles from more than 500 periodicals in numerous languages are selected for inclusion. In addition, approximately 800 current books are also summarized annually.     Oxford English Dictionary
    The Oxford English Dictionary is the ultimate authority on the English language, speech in English, and the usage of words. It provides the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words and traces their usage through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources. The OED includes words from across the English-speaking world, from North America to Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean. A printed version of this dictionary in 20 volumes can be found at Reference PE1625 .O87 1989.

    Over 100 full text language and subject dictionaries and reference works. Topics covered include general reference, language, science and medicine, humanities, social sciences, and business.

    TLG: Thesaurus Linguae Graecae
    This digital library contains virtually all Greek texts surviving from the period between Homer (8th century BCE) and 600 CE and the majority of surviving works up the fall of Byzantium in 1453 CE. It currently includes 12,000 works representing 3,700 authors and continues its efforts to include all extant Greek texts from the byzantine and post-byzantine period.
