ABSTRACT:
The Augustana Synod, Minnesota Conference Congregations Microfilm collection contains a rich variety of genealogical material and important details concerning church/congregational histories. Generally, information includes meeting minutes and various ministerial acts such as baptisms, confirmations, marriages, reception and dismissal of members, and funerals.  Many of the records are in Swedish.  Dates vary by congregation.  These microfilms represent part of the Inventory of Swedish American Archives commissioned and completed by the Emigrant Institute, Växjö, Sweden.  There is an index for the holdings of many congregations, created by Mrs. Hobart Johnson, volunteer archivist, with funds from the Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

RESTRICTIONS:
There are no restrictions on use of this collection for research purposes. The researcher assumes full responsibility for observing all copyright, property, and libel laws as they apply.

Researchers must use collection in accordance with the policies of the Lutheran Church Archives, the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library, and Gustavus Adolphus College.
