Windows Firewall

The Windows Firewall is a personal firewall that comes installed on Windows XP.

Configuring

To configure the Windows Firewall, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Network Connections Control Panel.
  2. Right-click on your Local Area Connection and select Properties.
  3. On the Advanced tab, make sure "Protect my computer..." is checked.
  4. Click "Settings."
  5. Click "Add."
  6. You will need to add four services to connect to your home directory:
