Vickner Hall
Vickner Hall was dedicated in May 18, 1962 and officially named the Edwin J. Vickner Language Hall. It was a gift from Bertha Almen Vickner, class of 1910, and Edwin J. Vickner, professor of German, Spanish and Swedish from 1903-12 and 1950-51.
In 1991, Vickner Hall was remodeled and Confer Hall added, to accommodate the Culpeper Language Center. The entire Confer-Vickner building houses faculty offices for three departments (English; Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures; and Scandinavian Studies), classrooms, Writing Center, Edwin J. Vickner Phi Beta Kappa Room and the Culpeper computer lab.
