Leila is currently a senior Political Science major with a Gender, Women, and Sexuality & Sociology and Anthropology double minor at Gustavus Adolphus College. After graduation she plans on working to improve rights pertaining to ethnic and sexual minority groups.

On campus her freshman year she played on the women's soccer team, but now is part of the Gustavus Women's Rugby Team. She has worked at GTS since January 2011. In the summer of 2012 she worked as an intern at the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans. She has also interned at The Minneapolis Foundation.

This summer she worked as an intern at the U.S. House of Representatives - Congresswoman Betty McCollum's District Office in St. Paul, MN. She's currently an interning for the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota at the Greater Minnesota Racial Justice Project in Mankato, MN.
