Talk:Path

I'm thinking this article could be merged with hyperlink.

I was going to put an elaborate example in the article, but maybe it'd be better to put my efforts into the hyperlink article.

==Examples== Say you're in charge of the '''Smash Club''' website whose [[URL]] is <nowiki>'''http://www.gustavus.edu/orgs/smashclub/'''.

Because of the way our web server is set up (with a Unix-like filesystem), the absolute path of your website would be: /cis/www/orgs/smashclub/.

Let's say you have two files in your smashclub website: index.cfm and list.cfm. For example, if your working directory were /cis/www/academics/mcs/, you could reference the mcs.cfm file without needing to supply any further information about the parent directories. </nowiki>--Rudi 12:04, 22 September 2006 (CDT)
