Remote Apps are applications that are available for students and employees to run remotely using Remote Desktop Connection. Please select the file below to download and run a remote app.

Download Remote Desktop Connection
Windows
Remote Desktop is included with Windows, but you may need to update to the latest version (This version is already included in Windows 7).
What version of Windows do I have?
- Right Click on Computer or My Computer and select Properties.
- A dialog will pop up displaying the version of Windows you are running. On Vista/7 System Type will say either 64-bit or 32-bit

- This version of Windows requires no updates to the RD client.

Remote Apps
Select a zip file, which contains a remote app rdp file, below. If you receive a password prompt when downloading the file, enter your e-mail username and password to download the file. Remember where you save the file so you are able to run it after downloading it.

Extract the zip file to your desktop and double click it to connect to the remote app.
The first time you login to the Remote Apps server, you will be logged out so your profile can be setup.
Login
To login to the remote application, double click on the file that you downloaded and use the following information:
- username: gustie\youremailusername
- password: youremailpassword
Note: (If gustie is listed under a seperate box named Domain, exclude gustie\ from your username.)
If you receive a prompt about verification, click Yes to accept.
Macintosh Client
You must install the Remote Desktop Connection client to connect to the Remote Apps. The latest version (2.1.1) is required to connect.
- Macintosh Remote Desktop Connection Client
- Open the downloaded dmg file.
- Double click RDC Installer to install the Remote Desktop Client. Walk through the installer with the default options.
- Download the appropriate Remote App RDP file from the list below.

Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing difficulties connecting, please try the following:
- Ensure you are entering gustie\your-emailusername (do not include @gustavus.edu) and your-emailpassword as the password.
- If your password is being denied, try to login to Webmail and log back out. This will ensure your password is synced with the remote apps server. After logging into webmail, try to login to the Remote App again.
Additional remote access options
Virtual Lab is an alternative to the Remote Apps. Virtual Lab offers remote access to an entire lab desktop instead of just one application. It may not contain all the applications available via Remote Apps.
