The Microsoft Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) is a free utility from Microsoft that helps to prevent vulnerabilities in software. It uses security mitigation technologies to defeat software exploits. It is an added security layer that works with anti-virus/malware software and should not be used as a replacement for AV. Gustavus recommends installing EMET on all Windows computers to provide a more secure computing environment.
