ITunes U

iTunes University is a software solution for course management. The technology is based on the Apple ITunes software. Content can be easily shared and viewed between a small group of users or the entire world.

Gustavus hosts a public iTunes U site that is open to anyone and a private iTunes U site which is closed to just the campus community. Use the following article to access the content on Gustavus iTunes U.

Requirements

In order to view the Gustavus iTunes U site you will need a computer running Mac OS X 10.4 or later or Windows XP or later. You must have the Apple iTunes software installed.

Installing iTunes

Download the Apple iTunes software here. You can watch this video tutorial from Apple to learn how to do this. You may also read more about iTunes and it's functionality from the iTunes A-Z website.

Gustavus users

  1. In your web browser navigate to the Gustavus iTunes U webpage.
  2. Click on the Gustavus Users button.
  3. Login with your Gustavus email username and password.
  4. If ITunes is installed on your computer, it will automatically open and load the Gustavus iTunes U site.
  5. Click on the event, organization or course you wish to view.
  6. On the next screen you will click on the appropriate tab which determines the quality and format of the content you would like to access.
    • Computer - Highest quality video possible. Only use this if you have a fast internet connection for downloading.
    • Apple TV - High quality video for watching on a TV or computer.
    • iPod/iPhone - Best for a quick download and intended for use on your iPod, iPhone or iPad.
    • Audio - Choose if you want audio only.
  7. After clicking on a tab, you will see a list of episodes. To listen or view the podcast immediately double-click it from the list.
  8. Click the Get button to download any podcasts you wish to view later or would like to load on your iPod, iPhone or iPad.

Guests

  1. In your web browser navigate to the Gustavus iTunes U webpage.
