Equipment
The Culpeper Language Center computer lab currently contains 25 Macintosh-based computers, one HP Laserjet 4100 printer, a digital projector, DVD player, VCR and media cart containing a television, international VCR and DVD player. The Center's international television and DVD viewing station has a 42 inch LCD flat screen TV, connected to a region-free DVD player, multi-region VCR, and DISH Network receiver. The Culpeper's DISH Network subscription includes international programing for Spanish, German, French, Russian and Japanese. The Center's media development station includes two ReplayTVs, and three DISH receivers, an international VCR, DVD, and MiniDV dubbing system as well as a Macintosh computer containing media editing programs such as iMovie and iDVD, as well as an iSight webcam and microphone for video/audio chatting and pod/vod-casting.

The computers in the Culpeper Language Center are equipped with many programs and tools which are commonly utilized by the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, these include, but are not limited to:

- DVArchive - Choose, record, and download international TV programs
- DVD2one - Copy DVDs
- ePortfolio Templates - ePortfolios for language students, primarily in French
- EPSON Scanner - Basic photo and text scanning
- FfmpegX - Converting video file-types
- Firefox - Web browser
- Garageband - Audio recording and mixing for podcasts
- iMovie - Importing, editing, and saving/compressing video
- iTunes - Listening to audio files
- Language Inputs - Typing in foreign languages like Japanese and Russian
- Mac the Ripper - Copying DVDs
- Media development station documentation
- Extensive documentation on how to use the equipment in the room, and which programs to use for specific projects, such as copying DVDs, converting video-types, using the ReplayTVs, etc. (written for Culpeper student employees)
- Microsoft Powerpoint - Creating and using Powerpoint presentations
- Microsoft Word - Creating and using text documents
- Moodle
- Extensive documentation on features and uses of Moodle, Gustavus's online course management system, such as assignments, grading, journals, etc. Created for the entire Gustavus community.
- Readiris - Text recognition document scanning software
- ReplayTV - Choosing and recording international television for the MLC department
- Rikaichan - Japanese web browser dictionary plug-in
- Robosensei - Japanese grammar exercises
- Safari - Web browser
- VideoCue - Quick video capturing, ideal for Vodcasting
