Group Fitness Classes

J-Term 2014

All Classes are free of charge and available to Gustavus employees and spouses. Each class is designed to challenge all fitness levels, and you don’t need to be “in shape” to participate. I encourage everyone to bring a friend and give each class a try (you do not need to sign up or register for classes). Classes begin Monday, January 6th and end on the 31st. Aerobic Mix
Monday 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. (Lund 224)
Instructor: Stephanie Otto
What a great way to start your work week! Certified instructor Stephanie Otto will be offering this class which will feature both cardio and free weights. Each week will be a new surprise. Kick off 2014 by working those muscles and getting that heart pumpin’!! It sure to be an awesome workout and lots of fun.
Social Dance
Monday 12:40-1:20 p.m. (Lund 217)
Instructor: Brenda Haugen
Looking for a fun, stress relieving break in your day? Come as you are… no need to change… and do a little dancing! We will warm up weekly learning a new four corner dance followed by the tango for the first two weeks and the waltz the second two weeks. No experience necessary to join the class! Since we will be dancing in the gymnastics room no need for shoes.
Zumba
Tuesday 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. (Lund 224)

"Ditch the Workout and Join the Party!” What a great tagline for the latest fitness craze…Zumba! Move and groove to fun music in this fun cardio-dance class taught by certified Zumba instructor Jill VanOsdol.
Yoga
Tuesday and Thursday 12:40 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. (Lund 224)

Join GHP and certified Yoga Instructor, Kelly Holland for one or both of her weekly yoga classes offered during J Term. These classes are meant for the yoga novice or veteran. So kick off your shoes, lay out your mat, and prepare to balance the body and mind!
Bootcamp
Wednesday 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. (Lund 224)
Instructor: Brenda Haugen
Get ready to start the New Year off with a total body workout. Fitness boot camps never go out of style for good reason: The military-inspired workouts burn serious calories. Built on three fundamentals of training—cardio, strength, and agility—boot-camp workouts require little more than your body weight to get results. All fitness levels are welcome!
Cardio Mix
Thursday 6:30-7:15 a.m. (Lund 224)

Calling all early birds! What a great way to start your day. Shape it up with this all-in-one cardio/free weights class that gets your heart pumpin’ and your muscles movin’! This class is meant for all fitness levels.
Step Aerobics:
Friday 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. (Lund 224)
Instructor: Stephanie Otto
This class taught by Stephanie Otto will include all of your favorite step dance moves blended with some fun choreography and lots of energy. This class is designed for all levels and is sure to be a blast.
