The Lucia Singers is an auditioned choir of soprano and alto voices at Gustavus Adolphus College that performs distinct choral repertoire from a variety of time periods and cultures. Named for St. Lucia who is known for bringing light to the darkness, the ensemble creates and cultivates community, empathy, and beauty through choral singing. The choir maintains an active performance schedule which includes the annual production of Christmas in Christ Chapel,, the Family Weekend morning concert, an annual spring concert, and various liturgical services on campus. Choir membership is by audition. Rehearsals are Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 4:20 PM. The Lucia Singers are under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Cherland.
