The Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO) performs repertoire primarily of the Baroque and Classical era. GPO is a chamber string ensemble which occasionally adds winds, brass, and percussion, depending on the piece. Members of GPO are admitted by audition at the beginning of the academic year. The GPO gives two to three concerts a year: one in the Fall, and one or two in the Spring. In addition, the orchestra also performs on campus during morning Chapel and Sunday services at Christ Chapel. GPO rehearses Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-5:45 pm and is under the direction of Ms. Karin Dye.
