Student Employment Opportunities
in Theatre and Dance
Assistant to Faculty - Student employees are assigned to an individual member of the department faculty to assist with clerical tasks, library research, etc.
Costume shop - Assist in the construction, alteration, and maintenance of costumes. Occasional design opportunities available. Costume collection supervisor, costume shop first hands, stitchers, and craft people needed. Primarily afternoon hours, but must be willing to work flexible schedules, including some nights and weekends.
Dance accompanist - Musicians needed to accompany Modern Dance and Ballet classes. Percussionists play simple rhythms improvisationally and pianists play diverse styles of music. Classes meet in two-hour blocks.
Office Assistants - Work in department office performing general office duties, including word processing using a Macintosh. An interest in theatre and dance is helpful, but not necessary.
Publicity/Graphics Assistant - Assist in publicity for department productions, design posters, photographer/videographer, and design season brochures.
Scene Shop - Assist with props, lights, sound, and construction of scenery for theatre and dance productions. Hours scheduled by week with extra hours available some evenings and weekends. Production positions are also available to scene shop workers.
Teaching Assistants - Assist and demonstrate proper technique in beginning ballet and beginning modern dance. Classes meet 2 times a week for 2 hours.
