JOB SUMMARY:  The Software Engineer is a key member of a dynamic team of development professionals who oversee the College’s Web presence. This individual would be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and/or websites that enhance and support the strategic vision of the College. This skilled and creative individual must be organized, resourceful, and able to effectively collaborate in a casual, primarily remote, and supportive team environment. The selected individual will report to the Director of Web Services.


  • Design, implement and maintain in house web applications and pages while balancing user experience, feasibility, and performance. 
  • Provide technical consultation and support for the selection and maintenance of various third-party applications.
  • Offer standards-based and accessible website guidance and support to campus departments.
  • Maintain a high-level awareness of technological advancements within the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP) environment as well as JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS3, and other relevant frameworks and technologies.
  • Work collaboratively and supportively in a challenging and rewarding team-based environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.



  • Demonstrated programming experience in any language
  • Familiarity or experience  with, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, CSS3, and Javascript or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with Linux command line with ability to develop proficiency 
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, performed in small group settings via email, chat, virtual conference, etc.
  • Passion for the web and related technologies
  • Self-motivation and problem-solving skills to finish projects with minimal supervision


  • Flexible working environment, remote or on campus, with minimal campus attendance requirements.
