Description

JOB SUMMARY:  Provide advanced processing of outgoing letters, flats and parcels for departments, student groups, and external customers. Process individual letters, flats and parcels. Sortation and distribution of incoming mail and parcels for the College community. 

*This is a part-time position is 9:30-3pm, Monday through Friday* 

*Anticpated start date September 2022*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Sortation and distribution of incoming mail.
  • Preparation of outgoing mail.
  • Customer service including FedEx, UPS, DHL, Speedy, and USPS.
  • Database management (maintaining mailing list for fulfillment process).
  • Post daily charges and calculate and post daily/monthly accountable mail charges.
  • Balance daily with internal USPS/Reserve Account postings 
  • Quality control review for accuracy of process and quality of print. 
  • Operate and provide minor maintenance on mail processing equipment. 
  • Supervise and train student employees.
  • Maintain mailroom inventory and order mailing supplies.
  • Provide FEDEX expertise and support. 
  • Document FedEx processes 
  • Provide supervision and training for staff and student employees 
  • Maintain and order all FedEx supplies 
  • Balance daily/monthly charges with internal postings 
  • Assure service standards are met 
  • Order call tags and schedule remote package and freight pickups   
  • Customer service/provide product information, service and troubleshooting support.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel and Word. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work as a part of a team 
  • Ability to work flexible hours. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge of postal regulation. 
  • Knowledge of postal software and equipment. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Some equipment noise and ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
  • This is an on-campus, in-person position.
