JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide operational and administrative support to the Career Development office and is a catalyst between the office and its constituents to ensure continuity and quality of service and programs. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage and operate technology platforms for the office, to ensure proper training in all systems, accurate reporting and updated website and social media content. 
  • Manage data records, reports, and other materials related to program assessments and surveys. 
  • Provide high level administrative support to the office director and seven Career Specialists. 
  • Coordinate with staff to participate in operation of Peer Career Advisor program with student staff as a career readiness program. 
  • Manage events, meetings and space scheduling. 
  • Manage development and collaborate with Gustavus Marketing and Communication Office to develop and implement marketing strategies in conjunction with Cluster Specialists for programs, events, and initiatives. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Prerequisites

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years experience with various technology platforms and data analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, general computer skills and ability to learn new technologies. 
  • Detail oriented, excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to keep confidentiality. 
  • Ability to work independently and direct student staff. 
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure with frequently changing priorities. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience supervising college student staff, managing office operations including creation of systems and procedures to insure effectiveness. 
  • Working knowledge and prior experience with recruiting software (Symplicity, Handshake), student record management (Starfish, or similar), Adobe suite, and Google products such as Google Drive, GoogleCal and/or similar technology.
