MTLE

MTLE stands for Minnesota Teacher Licensure examination. As an education major you have to take the following tests:

Elementary:

-          Basic Skills: Reading, Writing, Math (or give your ACT w/ writing score of 22 or higher to Sara)

o   Take this around Admissions to the education department

-          Elementary Pedagogy (subtest 1 and subtest 2)

o   Take after foundations or methods, must be done before completion of student teaching.

-          Elementary Content (subtest 1, subtest 2, subtest 3)

o   Take after Methods course must be done before completion of student teaching student teaching.

-          Elementary English Language Arts/Math/Science/Social Studies Endorsement Test

o   Take after completion of endorsement, must be done before completion of student teaching.

Secondary

-          Basic Skills: Reading, Writing, Math (or give your ACT w/ writing score of 22 or higher to Sara)

o   Take this around Admissions to the education department

-          Secondary Pedagogy (subtest 1 and subtest 2)

o   Take after foundations or methods block, must be done before completion of student teaching

-          Secondary Content (subtest 1 and subtest 2)

o   Take after Methods course, must be done before completion of student teaching.
