Multilingual and Intercultural Support

The Multilingual and Intercultural Program Coordinator works to help students meet their goals when reading, writing, and speaking English, and to experience fully the intercultural community of Gustavus.

One-on-One Tutoring and Advising

I am happy to meet with you for individual tutoring or advising. Below you will find a list with examples of the things that we can address when we meet. Please schedule appointments by phone at 507-933-7545 or by email to Carly Overfelt.

  • Academic writing
  • Oral presentations
  • Reading
  • Listening
  • Vocabulary
  • Conversation skills
  • Seeking clarification about course readings and assignment prompts
  • Requesting extra time on exams and other assignments

You may also participate in a small workshop group. I schedule workshops periodically during the academic year, and students are free to join one or more of these events to gain new ideas and strategies for academic success in a fun and supportive setting.
