Information for Faculty

The Center for International and Cultural Education works closely with faculty on procedures and policies for teaching off-campus. There are many opportunities to integrate learning on campus with an off-campus study experience. From this page you will find information on proposing an off-study travel course, developing a new semester or J-Term program, procedures for dealing with emergencies, applying for program development funds from the CICE, and more.

Resources for Study Away Teaching
For faculty members who teach in and/or lead study away programs and J-Term study away courses, there are a number of resources available. CICE maintains a Faculty Director handbook which is available on request. In addition, via Gustavus' membership in the Forum on Education Abroad, all staff and faculty members at Gustavus Adolphus College may have log-in access to the Forum’s online member resources. These resources include the Standards Toolbox, Curriculum Toolbox, Outcomes Assessment Toolbox, the Education Abroad Digital Resource Center, and best practice examples from other institutions and organizations. To request log-in access, please contact Roger Adkins.
