  • Favorite Part About Caring Hands:
"I love the conversations that I have with patients. Many of them are older than me and have so many wonderful stories to tell, and wisdom to impart. I have learned so much from the people that I get to talk to, and have grown a lot as a person with everything that I've learned from them."

  • Major: Psychological Science
  • Graduation Year: 2020
  • Health Profession Area of Interest: Pre-Medicine
  • Favorite Part About Caring Hands:
"My favorite part of the program is the patient interaction. While giving a hand massage may seem like an odd volunteer position, people tend to share their stories and become really open with you - it's a privilege to be able to make something negative a little bit better."

Jada Nelsen (Caring Hands Volunteer 2019-2020)

  • Major: Biology
  • Graduation Year: 2021
  • Health Profession Area of Interest: Medicine
  • Favorite Part About Caring Hands:
"My favorite part of Caring Hands is the positive impact the program has on patients. The interaction is short, but the experience provides patients with a moment to escape their pain and relax with a gentle hand massage. I always watch their mood lift throughout the massage, and I am always amazed at how such a small gesture can have such a large outcome to the patient."
