New Student Registration
Fall 2024

You're going to be a Gustie? Congratulations!

The information on this page will help you learn more about new student registration and what to expect when attending a Gustie Gear-Up! event on June 18, 20, or 21, 2024.

FIRST STEPS

1) Create and activate your Gustavus User Account:
Your first step is to create and activate your Gustavus User Account. You were sent an email the day after you paid your enrollment deposit that included account creation and activation instructions.

Please consult this page and/or contact the Technology Helpline (507-933-6111 or helpline@gustavus.edu) if you need help or have questions about creating or activating your account.

2) Enrollment Checklist:
After you activate your Gustavus User Account, go to your Gustavus Enrollment Checklist. You will use the online checklist to request housing, submit your registration preferences, and keep track of other important details prior to arriving at Gustavus.

3) Gustavus ID#:
You can find your Gustavus ID# in your Gustavus admission offer and/or financial aid information. This is an important number for you to memorize!

WELCOME PACKET:

Beginning in mid-April, our Admission Office will mail you a Welcome Packet shortly after you pay your enrollment deposit. The packet contains a Gustavus Enrollment Timeline that highlights important dates and deadlines.

REGISTRATION PACKET:

Beginning mid-May, incoming deposited students will be mailed a Registration Packet. The packet includes instructions on how to RSVP to attend a Gustie Gear-Up! event in June, submit the online Registration Preference form, take placement exams, and submit AP and/or IB scores and PSEO/CIS transcripts. More detailed information can be found on your Gustavus Enrollment Checklist.

PLACEMENT EXAMS:

Many incoming Gustavus students need to take at least one placement exam prior to class registration. Check the Should I Take a Placement Exam? page to help you decide which exam(s) to take. More detailed information can be found on your Gustavus Enrollment Checklist.

AP, IB, CIS, PSEO & OTHER COLLEGE CREDIT:

Have you earned any college credit prior to coming to Gustavus? If so, be sure to request that your official college transcript(s) and/or AP or IB test scores are sent directly to Gustavus from the institution(s) that granted the credit. It is not enough to have these classes listed on your high school transcript. You must request for the official college transcript(s) and/or test scores to be sent directly to Gustavus.

Have transcripts sent to:

admission@gustavus.edu

or

Gustavus Admission Office
800 W. College Ave
Saint Peter, MN, 56082

If your college courses are still in progress, you can wait until they are complete (and grades have been reported) before sending transcripts. Sending transcripts and scores as soon as possible upon completion will help us identify if/how your credits will transfer to Gustavus. Thank you!

ATTEND GUSTIE GEAR-UP!:

Once you have created and activated your Gustavus User Account, RSVP'd to attend Gustie Gear-Up!, submitted your Registration Preference form, taken any necessary placement exams, and requested to have your transcripts/scores sent to Gustavus, you will be ready to attend a Gustie Gear-Up! event on June 18, 20, or 21, 2024.

Gustie Gear-Up! is your opportunity to personally receive, review, and adjust your class schedule with an academic advisor, meet your fellow classmates, complete necessary paperwork, and get your final questions answered prior to moving in this fall. You can expect to spend a half day here on campus for Gustie Gear-Up!.

Students who do not attend Gustie Gear-Up! will receive an email (sent to their Gustavus email) in late June with instructions on how to access and review their class schedule. That email will also include information about an optional opportunity in July to virtually review and adjust their schedule with a Gustavus advisor.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION:

After attending Gustie Gear-Up! in June, your next step will be to move in and attend New Student Orientation this fall. Please contact the Campus Activities Office with any questions.

ENROLLMENT FORMS:

Do you need an extra copy of any of the mailings that you were sent from our Admission Office? You will find a comprehensive list on their Enrollment Forms page.
