A lecture on the current human rights' crisis in Honduras and the connections to US policies (including both military aid and presence in Honduras). We'll be hosting Tomas Gomez Membreno from COPINH, the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras. COPINH is an indigenous rights group based in the department of Esperanza, which neighbors the U.S. funded military base, known as Soto Cano or Palmerola. COPINH also works on issues of indigenous land rights, environmental and social justice. Tomas works with COPINH's community radio projects in Lenca communities.
